Rows of Certificates: Peer Mentoring and Community Strength

Training & Courses

Rows and rows of hologram marked OCN Level 3 accredited Reintegrative Mentoring certificates, all lined up for checking and distributing. I love seeing this achievement, it makes me smile widely thinking back to the names and participative engagement in the Cohort 4 training units.

Cohort 4 have delivered our training to a range of organisations and communities this year and this batch of certificates are for some incredible community volunteers across Worcestershire and Evesham areas as part of two projects designed to support community members who are in need of a listening ear and non judgemental space to talk.

Thank you to all the participants so far within these two multi-layered projects led by Wychavon District Council and Worcestershire County Council.

I have been so pleased to provide a foundation model to help bring community members together to create communities of strength and kindness. Whether it is to reduce suicide within rural communities, to bring together existing community leaders, to bring together VCSE groups of volunteers doing incredible work, or to reinforce the power of just one person responding by listening, believing and caring, this training works alongside the enthusiasm and capacities of different communities. Peer support and peer mentoring sounds relatively easy, but to deliver this safely, ethically and empoweringly takes commitment of support for community members to do what they do so well – support their own communities in the way they know works well.

Thank you for giving Cohort 4 the opportunity to meet and work alongside you to achieve this qualification, and to engage with you with full enthusiasm for what you are doing.

Training feedback Redditch Group One, 2026

  • Excellent facilitation and knowledge base.
  • Again, I enjoyed how it was very discussion based, and not just reading off of slides. I think it’s very important that given the nature of this course, I could share my opinion and listen to others.
  • Great powerpoint, not boring (like some previous training courses). Opportunities to debate & learn from different perspectives of lived experiences & work.
  • Thank you. I always get a lot from networking in a setting like this from different people/organisations. Speakers/lectures – I enjoy when there is a wealth of lived & professional experience. Terminology is always a challenge what is right, what is not.
  • I feel a changed person, thank you.
  • I enjoyed the training, the pace was perfect, everyone was included and we all were encouraged to contribute.

Our Cohort 4 Training Philosophy

Peer mentoring is grounded in the belief that people are experts in their own lives.  Through shared lived experience, authentic relationships, and mutual respect, mentoring creates opportunities for connection, belonging, comfort, and hope.  Peer mentors play a vital role in creating the conditions in which hope can develop, and relationships thrive.  The Reintegrative Mentoring training is more than a course; it’s a way of working with people.

We are expanding in 2027

Together with some wonderful consultancy support, I am pleased to expand this training into a train the trainer process coming in 2027, with new trainers reaching far wider than I can alone.

Stronger together!

Beverley
