We asked our Cohort 4 Women about what they thought of their Thursday Lunch Club after running it for over 12 months. A massive 100% felt that they had reduced levels of loneliness and had improved their self confidence. 90% felt that their mental health had improved and 90% also felt that they were part of a friendship group now in North Warwickshire. Some 16 women, some with babies, came to join us throughout the past year and most came frequently. Some women came for each and every lunch club and thanks to Margaret and Carrie for providing such lovely food and a warm, happy welcome. Sarah helped women to access the benefits and housing advice that they were entitled to and we supported women with multiple needs to access community resources and funds.  Lunch with a clear purpose of women coming together to support other women.

We thank our funders the Big Lottery Awards 4 All in funding this for a year, and it continues now into 2019. With our Social Enterprise activities, we are able to continue providing our women’s Thursday Lunch Club through 2019, and sessional project worker fees are funded this year by the Wesleyan Funds via our fantastic community foundation, HoECF. Thank you so much.

A relatively small amount goes a long way in terms of enabling women to form their own community group and to decide for themselves what they need to be happier, healthier and more included in North Warwickshire. So we continue this Cohort 4 core project, and as our ‘A’ says at the bottom of the image,

‘Thank you family!’
