Cohort 4 Groups
I want to share my experiences with the wonderful Cohort 4
Cohort 4 are based in Atherstone. It is an incredible safe place which supports and empowers women. All of us attend are women who have their issues and we are all welcomed by the group.
Mental Wellbeing
As someone who battles with mental health issues, just attending a group is a big deal…. however once you go there your worries dissipate for the time your there …. The staff and ladies all have their own issues so you don’t feel different….. you feel accepted and not judged which in return gives you confidence.
Since being part of Cohort 4 I have attended mental health workshops, which have helped me immensely.  I have tried out new things such as felting which was wonderful and such good fun …. We have been out for meals, holidays and trips to the theatre, and film nights, doing qualifications. It is brilliant as an outsider to feel welcomed and part of the group.
Practical Support Offered
Cohort also offers ladies support with housing, benefits, court issues as well as lots of mental health and emotional help, and practical support. Also fundamentally Cohort 4 is a place of hope and encouragement, friendship and laughter. On pre covid days there was the weekly lunch club which was lovely as you could come and chat and have a nice meal.
Even during covid Cohort 4 are still constant, they didn’t leave us. We have book clubs, zoom catch ups, mental health support, self care kits, quizzes and even food parcels.
As well as the ladies who attend, the staff are pretty awesome women who genuinely show care and compassion. Most know what we experience because they have had issues in their lives too.
I just want to say a big thank you to all at Cohort 4 as you really have made the difference to my world.  I feel very thankful and lucky to be part of this brilliant group. I wanted to write something to tell you how I feel on the blog.
Thank you Cohort 4 for always being there.
